Your a really good teacher both music and about life.

I write song lyrics all the time, sometimes it flows out and other times it will take days to write,it’s just on you feel about a certain subject or topic, I write what want to write about and it really works for me.

Some artists lyrics I suggest you at our Smile Empty Soul,Evans Blue, and Chevelle. Three different lyric styles.

When writing lyrics is there any sort of notation I can use to express how long a word or phrase should be sung. A lot of times I have a sort of fictitious voice in my head that fits the type of song I am writing but I don’t know how to write the method in which it is sung so that I can remember the details. I mean I could always write “sounds like so and so” somewhere on the page but that still doesn’t give me enough details as to how I thought the lyrics fit with the rest of the song. Any ideas?

well, the note is how long the word is sung. So if you want the person to sing for 8 beats, then tie two whole notes together
