I am a guy from Glasgow in Scotland (yes, Laurie is a Scottish man’s name, I know it is a women’s name in the US !).
Just picked up a guitar and started strumming th elast few days.
Thankfully, I stumbled across your tutorial.
You are brilliant my friend and I cannot thank you enough for getting me started tonight on my first lesson on how to start learning the notes on the fretboard. I will try and follow your Tut’s from now on. I think it will not be easy for me though as I am a complete beginner !
Cheers, from Scotia !!

Heyb Walt , ur the best ispiring person I seen in the past 2 weeks and funny yet cut to the chsae short cuts of how to play Guitar , I have acoustic used to go into local musicl store Newrk NJ. And amzaed at the guitars and diff style sapes . elctri and acoustic , drum with metalic flake , But I never got into taking lessons. then in my 20 agot a electric and got bored trying to learn tab and not be able to break into a small well know riff or part of song, so got busy with chasing the which drove me nuts lolo That shure was nice double pick up berguday eltric . Now the year have past on older and I got the urge back and with interent and stuff there are riff , and 3 cord songs 4 chord song to play while practing Acoustic with built in equilizer an amps.
Your great teacher Which I am sure u heard many times over.and I subscrbided to your web site veio upload to when heath gets litter better will review archive and learnal I can . I been for past week trying to get the chords learn them E,C,G, my fac soud, D, , as u know new player finertips get very sore tender especily on accoustic , I laid out a 15 minte or longer each day to practice the E, Chrod c,d,g, till plays clear, the pain in fire tips distract me from my arthis hip pain, What I like to request is while recuperating what do u think my above15 minte 3 to 4 time day prace E,G.A. D. or chords good idea or give finer tips a eat? Nexthow does one know if there acoustic strings are to close together then what is consider normal. , reason ask I was in store music the other day and pull one of the rack and paying a D chord or A or c was easy m no flat note on any string. or are they guitars the same.?
Last can you come up with a 3 chord song that would be poluar for me to play to take break on during practing . Somthing that W chors like I start out with E chord ,G, D,E, But I be happy a song with what ever order you put them in and if leve out the ZD replace with another easy chord would be better since finer so sore the tips of my figers. a nd maybe a rif or two be it james bod rif anything As with song I will know if I have the picking and strum done way song is to sound. Once My hip and arthritis pain uder control And and fing tip calous up good I can’t wait to be able to to play a song on my onw and it sounds ok and the with practice and suggestions from you I willget bett Whatfullfillmemt that will be.. But I need something to hold me over as I thing many do , it is called playing .be guitar drum practing same note chrods are neded but insprition satifactio out also and a easy song is practing using them chords and there s a plus geting the stum patern down not to mention pnote pcking to opening of song. I would be very thankful if you find the time to list me choce of songs out 4 to pick or tab out a poluar song with opening picking to stuming the chords. and how to do and also a quicj riff . Then tuesday see my dictors about why my hips are in such pain, prilim is advanced arthis and something else they will metion report detail s at office , tues I see 3 doctors bust day,so can use some of your energy and and encouraging lesson that comes acoss on video. just send me it in writing the above in to my personal e mail. Thanks man. thank you very much. T5761@aol.com my youtube screen name is Rocket112

Please write them out like this:

2.) Question 2
etc.

ok so like… i looked up fingering charts for this and with some there is a ton of notes being played at the same time. why is that? and how do you write sharps and flats? how are they shown on the staff?
http://fororchestra.com Walt
notes stacked vertically means they are to be played at the same time (chords). For sharps and flats this may help
Great Video! Just one question- If the 5th fret of the 3rd string is a C, wouldn’t that mean that the open @nd string is a C because they are the same note right?
QuAUDIOPHILIAc17
That’s supposed to say “open 2nd string”
http://www.fororchestra.com WaltRibeiro
open 2nd string is B. The strings are EADGBE from bottom (6th string) to top (1st string)
