Dear Walt Ribeiro,

I am a teacher from Bangladesh. In the east, we use completely different kind of music notation. You have no idea how your program helped me and my students to learn about western classical music.

Just a request for your consideration: Can you please publish your videos in YouTube, instead of viddler? or at least keep both the options. We can’t see viddler very well from down here. One more thing, do you have a DVD series, that we can buy?

What does getting the beat mean? I don’t understand that. Ok in 4/4 the quarter note gets the beat… what does that mean?

The beat is the pulse. So when a song plays you’re feet or head is bopping to the music. That’s the beat.

Quarter notes get the beat means the every quarter note in sheet music equals a beat or pulse.

Most music is in 4/4… so four beats per measure. Every quarter note gets one beat.

1 – 2 – 3 – 4

Beat – Beat – Beat – Beat

Quarter – Quarter – Quarter – Quarter

All the same :)
